The court postponed the decision regarding the custody of the four-year-old child, who was left without her mother after the crime in Algés. The judge from the Family and Juvenile Court of Cascais chose to postpone the deliberation, without indicating a new date for the decision.
The young man who killed the mother and the child's father are both deprived of liberty. The four-year-old child was left orphaned by her mother and separated from her brother and father, who are detained.
The minor will continue to be cared for by a family friend, who had already taken her in after the crime. However, the extended family has already returned to Brazil without the girl.
The case involves a crime committed in Algés, in the Cascais area, and raises questions about the future of the Portuguese child, daughter of Brazilian parents, who now finds herself in a vulnerable situation without her primary caregivers.
