Robert Sánchez, Chelsea's goalkeeper, was fined after being caught speeding in England. The 28-year-old Spaniard was recorded by a traffic camera at 76 km/h in an area where the maximum speed limit was 64 km/h. The incident occurred in October last year, on the M23 motorway in Crawley, Surrey County.
Sánchez was subsequently convicted of speeding and received three points on his driver's license, in addition to a fine of £1,520, which corresponds to approximately R$10,700 at current exchange rates. The case was heard by Crawley Magistrates' Court in April, but has only now become public through official records.
The information was published by the English newspaper The Sun. The Spanish goalkeeper lost his place at Chelsea after the arrival of Emiliano Martínez, signed by the London club from Aston Villa.
