Karim Benzema decided to leave Al-Hilal, a club in Saudi Arabia. The French striker reached an agreement with the Saudi club for the termination of the contract by mutual agreement, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, specialized in the transfer market. The decision ends Benzema's passage at Al-Hilal earlier than expected.
The player, 38 years old, has not yet defined the next steps in his career, but is expected to announce his decision about the future soon. Among Benzema's possibilities are retirement from the pitch or a transfer to another club in Saudi Arabia. A return to European football, however, is ruled out at this time.
Benzema was signed by Al-Hilal at the beginning of this year and signed a contract until June 2027. Before, he was at rival Al-Ittihad since the 2023/24 season, after 14 years of history at Real Madrid.
Since his arrival at Al-Hilal, the Frenchman played 14 matches, scored 10 goals and provided nine assists.
