Chinese motorcycles accelerate and already represent almost half of sales in Castellón

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General31 August 2026 at 05:01

Chinese motorcycles are accelerating and already represent almost half of sales in the province of Castellón. Asian brands, both Chinese and Taiwanese, are gaining significant ground and, in 2026, already concentrate practically half of registrations in the region.

This advance is observed in a particularly dynamic year for the two-wheeled sector in Castellón. The province is growing well above the average of the autonomous community and also above the national average, which demonstrates a particularly strong performance of the local market.

The phenomenon reflects a broader trend of expansion of Asian brands in the European motorcycle market, with Chinese and Taiwanese firms consolidating their position as growing protagonists in the two-wheeled sector.

Exports save BYD: profits grow 30% despite crisis in Chinese market

BYD reported 30% profit growth in the first half of the year, driven by strong export performance that increased 33.9%, totaling the equivalent of 26,947 million dollars (about 23,248 million euros). This growth in foreign markets offset the slowdown in the Chinese market, where the company faces greater competition and price pressure, allowing the electric vehicle manufacturer to maintain its growth trajectory even in the context of a crisis in China's domestic market.
