The Superior Electoral Court began this Monday the analysis of candidacy registrations for Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva from PT, Flavio Bolsonaro from PL, and Romeu Zema from Novo. This analysis represents the last step necessary for the officialization of the candidacies for President of the Republic. The TSE ministers will vote on the registrations in the Court's Virtual Plenary until September 2, and the expectation is that all candidates will be approved without challenges.
Minister André Mendonça is the rapporteur of Lula's candidacy registration, while the rapporteur of Bolsonaro's case is Minister Estela Aranha. Both registrations are expected to proceed through normal processing without major obstacles, according to the electoral court's expectation.
The analysis of Renan Santos' candidacy, which was also scheduled for this Monday, was postponed after a decision by Minister Dias Toffoli. The postponement occurred because the candidate only submitted on the 19th the list with his social media addresses, a document considered mandatory for the analysis of the candidacy registration.
