The Municipality of Águeda is among the Portuguese municipalities distinguished with the Usability and Accessibility Seal, standing out in the national landscape of digital accessibility. This distinction comes in a concerning context, revealed by a new survey that shows that 92.6% of evaluated pages do not comply with level AA of accessibility.
The study that supports these data is called "Digital accessibility in Portuguese municipalities – 1st edition, 2026" and was published by DEMARCA Design. This research paints a picture that is still very deficient with regard to the accessibility of Portuguese municipal council websites.
Águeda's distinction with the Usability and Accessibility Seal represents recognition of the work developed by the municipality in this area, positioning the local authority as a positive example among the country's municipal councils.
