The migration crisis in Ceuta caused losses of 33 million euros, according to the data collected. The value represents the economic losses recorded in the Spanish city during the period of greatest impact of the crisis.
The drop in consumption, the absence of visitors and the perception of insecurity were the main factors that contributed to the decline in economic activity. Throughout the month of August, the commercial and tourist activity of the city reached minimum levels due to this combination of factors.
The situation created a particularly difficult economic scenario for Ceuta, affecting both local commerce and sectors related to tourism and services.
