North Korean leader Kim Jong-un dismissed Defense Minister No Kwang-chol, appointing Kim Song-gi to the position. This change comes in the context of a significant restructuring of the country's military leadership.

No Kwang-chol was not left without duties, having been appointed first deputy director of the Munitions Industry Department of the Workers' Party, North Korea's ruling party. This appointment indicates that the former minister continues to have an important role within the party's structure.

The PS leader, José Luís Carneiro, accused Prime Minister Luís Montenegro of whitewashing "the chaos in exams" at the national secondary level and of "being afraid of the Portuguese people," during a visit to the August Fair in Grândola.
