JPP visits Madeiran community in Jersey and strengthens institutional ties

The secretary-general of JPP, Élvio Sousa, is carrying out a working visit to Jersey. During the trip, he contacted the Madeiran community based in that Channel Island, as well as the local institutions. The aim of the visit is to strengthen the institutional ties between Madeira and Jersey. Élvio Sousa stated that "a Madeiran is always a Madeiran, wherever they are," underscoring the permanent connection of Madeirans to their homeland, regardless of their location.

The PS leader, José Luís Carneiro, accused Prime Minister Luís Montenegro of whitewashing "the chaos in exams" at the national secondary level and of "being afraid of the Portuguese people," during a visit to the August Fair in Grândola. Carneiro criticized Montenegro for substituting himself for the Minister of Education to "affirm a reality that doesn't exist," noting that the percentage of candidates who entered higher education decreased compared to previous years.
