A new return law is worrying judges and courts in Portugal. The Higher Council of Administrative and Tax Courts issued a warning that this legislation will create an exponential increase in cases in the courts.
The actions that are already accumulating in courts are filed by immigrants. With the new law, the situation may worsen significantly, overburdening the judicial system even further.
The warning emerges in the context of concern about the capacity of administrative and tax courts to handle this additional volume of cases.
