Discovery of cocaine in steaks helped dismantle prison trafficking network

Correio da Manhã30 August 2026 at 15:42

The discovery of cocaine hidden in steaks allowed the dismantling of a drug trafficking network inside prisons. Prison guards found the drug during a search in April 2025.

The drug was intended for a leader of a trafficking network, who was detained at the Guarda prison. Sending the substance through the steaks was the method found to get the cocaine inside the prison.

The judicial process related to this network has 24 defendants. The investigation resulted in the dismantling of the group that operated from inside the prison.
