A ferry with approximately 270 people on board sank in the northern part of Cyprus. The vessel was about to sink off the coast of New Kyrenia Port, known as Kyrenia in Greek.
Some media outlets reported that the ship capsized. However, the Minister of Transport of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Erhan Arıklı, offered a different version, stating that the vessel was about to sink, without mentioning the capsizing.
Local authorities have not yet provided detailed information about the incident, including possible casualties or the exact circumstances that led to the ferry sinking.
