The Judicial Police, through the Northern Directorate, arrested a 20-year-old young man for the presumed authorship of a homicide. The victim was a 50-year-old man, the suspect's stepfather, and the facts occurred during the early morning hours today in the parish of Vermoim, in the municipality of Maia.

The crime occurred inside the residence where the suspect and the victim lived together. According to the circumstantial evidence collected by the investigation, the young man and his stepfather reportedly had a disagreement.

Following this conflict, the suspect reportedly used a bladed weapon, striking blows to the victim's chest and abdominal region. The Judicial Police did not reveal further details about the exact circumstances of the crime or the reason for the disagreement.
