APA studies more efficient solution to replace Fojo pumps

Diário de Coimbra30 August 2026 at 09:45

The Agência Portuguesa do Ambiente (APA) is studying a more efficient solution to replace the Fojo pumps, infrastructure related to water management in the municipality. This information emerged in the context of the Environment minister's presence at the Year Fair.

The Environment minister attended this annual event, where she stated that each presence at the Year Fair represents "a testament to the determination and resilience of the people" of the municipality.

APA is the agency responsible for studying and implementing solutions in the area of environment and water resources in Portugal, which justifies its involvement in seeking alternatives for the Fojo pump system.

The Rio de Janeiro Municipal Health Department has implemented since August a protocol to track online betting addiction during routine consultations in Primary Care, including Family Clinics and Municipal Health Centers. The strategy consists of two questions asked to all patients during appointments, whose answers are recorded in the medical record. When there is a positive response, professionals assess the need for specific follow-up and also offer support to the bettors' family members, following a model already used to track other health problems.
