The biggest wine fair in the Douro is about to take place, celebrating its 22nd edition. The event is an important milestone in the enological calendar of the Douro region, bringing together producers, enthusiasts, and wine professionals.

Manuel Cordeiro, president of the City Council of São João da Pesqueira, is the key figure speaking about this edition of the fair. His position as mayor of São João da Pesqueira, one of the most emblematic municipalities in the Douro region, gives him a central role in the promotion and organization of this event.

The fair represents an opportunity to highlight the wines of the Douro, a region internationally recognized for the quality of its nectars, particularly Port Wine and Douro wines.

The report points out that inadequate labor policies, excessive business regulations and barriers to investment are the main obstacles, affecting 50% of advanced economies and three quarters of the emerging economies of the group. The IMF recommends cautious deregulation reforms, professional retraining programs and gradual implementation of changes, highlighting that success depends on trustworthy institutions, clear communication and careful planning to maximize benefits and minimize economic risks.
