Fafá de Belém, who turned 70 and celebrates 50 years of career, participates in September in the celebration of Nossa Senhora da Nazaré in Portugal. The artist gave an interview to PÚBLICO Brasil on that occasion.

Regarding politics, Fafá stated that those who know her from the Diretas Já! campaign know how she votes, referring to her political position known since that historical period of Brazil.

The singer also talked about ageism, a theme she often addresses in her interviews, highlighting her concern with age discrimination in the artistic world and in society in general.

The interview was given to PÚBLICO Brasil on the occasion of Fafá de Belém's participation in the religious festivities in Portugal, combining the cultural celebration with reflections on her trajectory and current social issues.
