An Aldi towel rack with shelf and 2 horizontal bars supporting up to 5 kg for under 10€ is on its way

Aldi will offer a towel rack from the Home Creation brand with shelf and two horizontal bars for 9.99 euros. The item will be available in stores from Wednesday, September 2, and includes a three-year manufacturer's warranty.
The structure is independent and rests on the floor, eliminating the need for wall-mounted supports and allowing it to be moved within the room. The design combines a wood-like appearance with two dark horizontal bars, where towels can be hung to maintain their shape and promote air circulation.
In the lower area, the towel rack has a shelf made of several slats, suitable for placing folded or rolled towels. This separation prevents the textiles from coming into direct contact with the floor. The maximum load capacity is approximately five kilos, with the weight to be distributed across the structure and not concentrated on a single bar.
The advertising flyer shows the item displayed with towels hung on the bars and others folded on the lower shelf, illustrating the two storage options. The document does not show the dimensions nor indicate the materials used in the manufacture of the product.
Centro Infantil Maria de Monserrate, in Lisbon, became the world's first creche to implement a four-day week, maintaining Monday to Friday operation for children. The association Caminhos da Infância, which manages the facility with 92 children and 25 staff members, decided to maintain the hybrid model (two weeks with four days, one with five) after a pilot project, adapting to the rhythm of activities and the needs of families. The 15% reduction in working hours required hiring an additional staff member, a cost offset by adjustments to extra-salary benefits. Executive director Inês Poeiras notes that absenteeism has improved significantly, but staff retention remains a challenge due to competition from public sector salaries, which IPSS cannot compete with.
Several Portuguese cities are suspending or banning shared electric scooters on public roads, citing problems of unregulated proliferation and safety. The sector's operators are reacting to these restrictive measures, at a time considered decisive for urban micromobility in Portugal. The conflict between the need for sustainable mobility and urban planning problems is calling into question the future of these services in the country.
Milk producers on the island of São Miguel, in the Azores, are living in a situation described as "dramatic" after Unileite announced a reduction of two cents per liter in the price paid to producers starting in September. Farmers are doing the math and estimate accumulated losses of 15 million euros, which threatens the economic viability of dairy farms on the island.
Chevron is in advanced negotiations to significantly expand its operations in Venezuela, possibly announcing a deal as early as next week. The second largest U.S. oil company, the only one with a significant presence in Caracas, is reinforcing efforts to revitalize Venezuela's struggling oil industry. The deal would represent a victory for the Trump administration, which has been pressuring American companies to play a larger role in the country's energy sector. On Friday, Trump also said the U.S. reached a deal to take majority control of a large portion of Venezuela's oil reserves.
