President and candidate for reelection Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) stated this Saturday (29), in Belo Horizonte, that the end of the 6x1 work schedule will be approved next week. The statement was made during an event aimed at women, where the candidate said that the approval will allow men and women to have more time to take care of their personal lives.
The meeting was attended by ministers who listed federal government actions for women, as well as candidates for the Senate from Minas Gerais and other states. The event was interpreted as a demonstration of political strength in view of the opposition's strategy of encouraging voting for candidates for the Federal Legislative House.
Lula's speech comes after he addressed the matter with the presidents of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta, and of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre, throughout the week, to lobby for the vote on the measure. The president also stated that, while in office, no foreign government will interfere in the country's affairs.
