Cape Verde. Largest opposition party supports former minister

The largest opposition party in Cape Verde decided to support Joana Rosa's candidacy for the Presidency of the Republic. This decision represents a significant milestone in Cape Verdean politics, given that the former minister agrees that the opposition is uniting behind a figure with governmental experience.

Joana Rosa served as Justice Minister for five years, accumulating extensive experience at the highest levels of the executive. Her time in government gave her deep knowledge of Cape Verdean state institutions and mechanisms.

The candidate publicly stated that her main goal is to become the first woman to hold the Presidency of the Republic in Cape Verde. This ambition represents a historic moment for the country, which has never had a woman as head of State.

Presidential elections in Cape Verde are scheduled for November 15, the date on which Cape Verdeans will be called upon to elect the next President of the Republic.
