GNR detained 610 people and detected more than eight thousand road violations in one week

The Republican National Guard (GNR) carried out, between August 21 and 27, a set of operations throughout the national territory. The operations aimed at the prevention and combat of crime, road accidents and different offenses of a regulatory nature.

During this period, the GNR detained 610 people in flagrante delicto. Among the detentions, 253 were for driving under the influence of alcohol and 56 for driving without a legal license, revealing the focus on road violations.

The authorities also detected more than eight thousand road violations during the week of operations. These actions intended to reinforce safety on Portuguese roads and combat risky behaviors.

The operation covered the entire country, demonstrating the GNR's effort to guarantee public and road safety during this period.
