In 41 years of Rock in Rio history, Capital Inicial is the artist with the most performances at the festival, being a regular since the 1991 edition, at Maracanã, and now preparing for its ninth participation. On the 4th, the band opens the 2026 edition on the Sunset Stage, alongside friend and legendary Legião Urbana guitarist Dado Villa-Lobos.

Another treasure of Brazilian rock, Sepultura is going for the eighth time at the festival — on the 5th, they open the Mundo Stage with their farewell show from Rock in Rio. As for Bahian singer Ivete Sangalo, who opens the Mundo Stage on the 13th, she is going for her seventh show at the event.

Brazilian artists surpass international acts in terms of presence at the festival. Right behind Capital Inicial come Guns N' Roses and Iron Maiden, each with five shows in the event's history, followed by the Red Hot Chili Peppers with four performances.

Metallica, Bon Jovi, Maroon 5 and Katy Perry appear tied with three shows each, with Maroon 5 expected to jump to four in the next edition. The article also mentions that it is possible to build an ideal line-up in an interactive game available on the platform.
