First the ladies: from Folk Bitch Trio to MARO, MEO Kalorama kicked off in female mode

The fifth edition of MEO Kalorama kicked off this Friday, August 28, at Parque da Bela Vista, in Lisbon. The festival, which is in its fifth edition, began with a strong female presence on the lineup.

The first performances were led by female artists, marking the beginning of the event with an exclusively female lineup. Among the many who performed on the first day, highlights included the Portuguese A Sul and MARO, the Australian Folk Bitch Trio, Swedish Anna Von Hausswolff, and Spanish Judeline.

The MEO Kalorama festival is a music event that takes place annually in Lisbon, bringing together international and national artists in an outdoor space. This edition promises to continue the tradition of previous ones, bringing relevant names from contemporary music.

The Serenata da Romaria d'Agonia, a traditional pyrotechnic event in Viana do Castelo, takes place this Saturday after being postponed due to weather conditions. The show features more than 700 thousand pyrotechnic effects distributed across more than 25 launch positions along the Lima river and the iconic Eiffel bridge, where a monumental fire cascade along its entire length will be presented, accompanied by new multimedia elements. The operation involves more than 50 professionals and, due to the postponement, all the structure had to be dismantled and prepared again for the event.
