The municipality of Estremoz will host in September the Iberian Women's volleyball Cup, a competition that brings together teams from Portugal and Spain. The event was announced by the Estremoz City Council as part of the city's sports programming.

The confirmed teams for the competition are FC Porto, Sporting de Braga, CAV Esquimo and a German team, Heidelberg. The presence of Heidelberg indicates that the tournament is not limited only to Iberian teams, despite the name of the event.

Estremoz positions itself as the venue for an international-level women's volleyball competition, attracting teams from different countries to the district of Évora. The Iberian Cup represents an opportunity for Portuguese teams to face opponents from different sporting traditions.
