The National Health Service (SNS) concluded the classification of the National User Register (RNU), which currently has 10.77 million registered users. This information was announced today, representing a milestone in the organization of data from users of the Portuguese public health system.
The RNU reveals a family doctor coverage rate of 87%, which means the vast majority of registered users have access to an assigned family doctor. This indicator is considered fundamental to assess the SNS's capacity to guarantee primary health care to the population.
The register covers all users enrolled in the public health system, allowing better management and planning of available health resources in Portugal. The conclusion of this classification aims to improve the organization and follow-up of users by the SNS.
