The river beaches of Adaúfe, Cavadinho, Ponte do Bico and Merelim São Paio, all in the municipality of Braga, are advised against swimming due to contamination and risk of discharges. This situation also affects the River Beach of Verim, located in the neighboring municipality of Póvoa de Lanhoso.

Environmentalist Carlos Dobreira went in the afternoon to the River Beach of Verim, where he personally verified the presence of the red flag and the prohibition of use of the beach. The situation represents an alert for users who intend to use these spaces during the bathing season.

Authorities are recommending that swimmers avoid these areas until the situation is resolved and water quality is restored. The contamination and risk of discharges compromise the safety of visitors to these river beaches.
