The President of the Republic promulgated a law that extends the ban on mobile phones in Portuguese schools up to the 9th grade.
This new measure expands a ban that previously applied only to earlier school years, now covering students up to the 3rd cycle of basic education.
The law comes into force on January 1st of next year, from which date educational establishments must ensure compliance with this restriction.
With this decision, Portugal reinforces measures to combat distraction and the improper use of electronic devices in the school context.
