Haddad and Alckmin meet with former secretaries from tucano governments to reinforce campaign in SP

The PT candidate for governor of São Paulo, Fernando Haddad, and the Vice President of the Republic, Geraldo Alckmin, will meet on Friday afternoon (28th) in São Paulo's capital with former secretaries from the tucano party (PSDB) governments in the state, dating back to the Franco Montoro administration. The meeting aims to seek support from these former tucano managers for Haddad's candidacy for the Bandeirantes Palace.

The meeting takes place about 40 days before the first round of elections, at a time when recent electoral polls show Haddad still below Governor Tarcísio de Freitas, from Republicanos, in the race for the government of São Paulo.

Haddad's inner circle considers that the state is undergoing a "dismantling" under the current administration, and the goal of the meeting is precisely to convince the tucanos to engage in the PT campaign by presenting this assessment of the state administration.

According to the campaign coordinator for Haddad and state president of the PT, Kiko Celeguim, if the meeting goes well, the idea is for the meeting to unfold into a second phase of meetings with former mayors and former state and federal deputies from the tucano party.
