Theatrical guided visit to the Jewish presence in the history of Penamacor had about 80 participants

The theatrical guided visit "The Jewish Presence in the Village of Penamacor", promoted by the Municipality of Penamacor through the Municipal Museum, took place on Friday, August 21, and had about 80 participants. The initiative proposed a journey through the history, memories and legacy of Jewish culture in the Village of Penamacor.

Throughout the route, participants were accompanied by meticulously dressed musicians who used medieval period instruments, among which the harmonica stood out. Sephardic themes and other evocative compositions from that historical period were performed, enriching the experience with musical moments alluding to the Middle Ages.

The experience aimed to provide a differentiating approach to local heritage and history, combining history, heritage, music and performance. Characters, episodes and memories of the Jewish presence in the municipality came to life, providing participants with a better understanding of the importance of this community in the history of Penamacor.

This initiative aimed to enhance and disseminate a fundamental dimension of the cultural and heritage identity of the municipality, promoting knowledge and safeguarding the collective memory of the Jewish presence in the territory.

A visita guiada encenada “A Presença Judaica na Vila de Penamacor”, iniciativa promovida pelo Município, através do Museu Municipal, contou com cerca de oito dezenas de participantes, na sexta-feira, dia 21 de agosto

Durante a iniciativa, os caminhantes fizeram uma viagem pela história, pelas memórias e pelo legado da cultura judaica na Vila, sendo que o percurso foi enriquecido por diversos momentos musicais alusivos ao período medieval, protagonizados por músicos trajados a rigor, que utilizaram instrumentos da época, entre os quais se destacou a sanfona. Foram interpretados temas sefarditas e outras composições evocativas daquele período histórico.

Esta experiência pretendeu propor uma abordagem diferenciadora ao património e à história local, conjugando história, património, música e representação. Ao longo do percurso, personagens, episódios e memórias ganharam vida, proporcionando aos participantes uma melhor compreensão da presença e da importância da comunidade judaica na história do concelho.

Esta iniciativa pretendeu, desta forma, valorizar e divulgar uma dimensão fundamental da identidade cultural e patrimonial do concelho, promovendo o conhecimento e a salvaguarda da memória coletiva.
