The government managed to plant allies in the rapporteurship of the Provisional Measure on the end of the "blusinhas tax" and in the presidency of the commission that will analyze the topic. By agreement among the parliamentarians, Deputy Reginaldo Lopes (PT-MG) was elected president of the commission, while Senator Leila Barros (PDT-DF) was defined as rapporteur of the committee.

Maintaining the end of the 20% charge on international purchases of up to US$ 50 is one of the electoral banners that President Lula intends to use in his re-election campaign. The trend is that the text will be voted on Monday in the committee.

Initially, today's session was scheduled only for next week, but was moved up. The date of the vote in the committee was also moved up and is no longer on Tuesday but will happen on Monday.

The choice of the main positions of the commission happened after a meeting between President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and the presidents of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre (União-AP), and the Chamber, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB).
