The Santana Cidade Solidária Association will promote, on October 21, at Quinta do Furão, the Regional Meeting called "The Meaning of Caring". The event has financial support of about 27 thousand euros from the Regional Government of Madeira, having been formalized through a program-contract signed by the regional secretary for Inclusion, Labor and Youth, Paula Margarido.
The meeting's main objective is to bring together about a hundred direct action assistants and professionals from all over the Autonomous Region of Madeira, promoting the valorization of these workers who perform essential functions in caring for elderly people.
The event includes certified training, which allows participants to acquire officially recognized technical skills. This training component aims to improve the quality of care provided to the elderly in the region.
The initiative comes within a broader effort by the Regional Government to recognize and strengthen the role of elderly caregivers, acknowledging their importance for the wellbeing of the elderly population in Madeira.
