The GNR of Viseu is alerting drivers to a type of scam that involves the simulation of road accidents. This practice consists of the perpetrators causing or staging a collision, with the objective of convincing the victim that they were responsible for the damages caused.
The scammers seek, in this way, to obtain money or other undue advantage from the victims, exploiting the confusion and stress that these moments cause in the drivers involved.
The municipal GNR of Viseu decided to issue this alert to warn the population and prevent more people from falling into this type of fraudulent scheme, which has been reported in various areas of the country.
The authorities recommend that drivers be alert and, in case of an accident, always contact the competent authorities to make the official report of the incident, thus avoiding falling into the tricks of these scammers.
