More than four thousand kilos of common carpet shell clams seized in Estarreja

Authorities seized more than four thousand kilos of common carpet shell clams in the municipality of Estarreja. The bivalves were intercepted during an inspection operation.

The seized clams were sent to the Lota de Aveiro fish market, where they will be subject to the procedures determined by the competent authorities.

The common carpet shell is a bivalve very consumed in Portugal, being found mainly in coastal and estuarine areas.
