A Kazakh citizen needed to be rescued from an extreme access area in Curral das Freiras, a region known for its challenging geography. The rescue operation took place over 20 hours and involved a total of 48 operatives on the ground.
The tourist was removed by helicopter from the difficult access area where he was found. Despite the significant size of the rescue operation, the Kazakh citizen suffered only minor abrasions, with no serious injuries reported.
Curral das Freiras is an area frequently sought out by tourists due to its natural beauty, but it presents areas of complicated access that can pose risks to less prepared visitors or those who find themselves in difficulty.
