Cagliari's 20-year-old French striker Yael Trepy was discharged from hospital after nearly drowning in a pool in Porto Cervo, in northern Sardinia, on August 16. The Serie A club reported that the player left the hospital unit in good overall clinical conditions.
Two days after the incident, Cagliari had announced that Trepy had awakened from the medically induced coma with no evident neurological deficits. Professor Pietro Pirina, director of clinical and interventional pneumology at Sassari hospital, confirmed the discharge and highlighted the player's progressive and significant recovery.
The young striker now returns home safely, after undergoing a clinical process that demonstrated his improvement over the days. The club, however, has not yet informed when Trepy can resume sports activities and training.
