The 3rd Specialized Court in Criminal Organization of the Rio de Janeiro Court of Justice authorized the State to temporarily take possession and management of two properties linked to a money laundering scheme of the First Command of the Capital (PCC). The decision was made by Judge Alexandre Abrahão Dias Teixeira.
The properties are Várzea Country Clube, located in Água Santa, in the North Zone of Rio, and Pousada Menino do Rio, situated in Armação dos Búzios, in the Lagos Region. Both will be temporarily administered by the public authorities.
The judge granted a request from the Special Action Group Against Organized Crime (GAECO), linked to the Public Prosecutor's Office, which was investigating the connections between the establishments and the criminal scheme.
