Brew! Coimbra returns in September with beer, music and gastronomy

Campeão das Províncias28 August 2026 at 09:42

The Brew! Coimbra festival returns from September 11 to 13 at Verd'O Parque, next to Exploratório – Centro Ciência Viva de Coimbra, for its fifth edition. The event is organized by BREW! and the Coimbra City Council, bringing together national and international beer projects, music and gastronomic offerings.

The festival positions itself as a platform for showcasing independent beer projects, seeking to bring producers and the public together in an informal, convivial atmosphere. During the three days, breweries from different regions will be represented, with Portuguese and international projects presenting their proposals in a program dedicated to the discovery and promotion of beer culture.

The event combines beer with music, gastronomy and different moments of socializing in that green space by the Mondego River. Among the highlights of this edition is the first Corrida Munda, scheduled for September 12, which proposes a social run and a walk along both banks of the Mondego.

This initiative aims to add a component linked to physical activity, health and well-being to the program, while also promoting a connection between the festival and the city of Coimbra.

O festival Brew!

Sardine on the Tile and Potato in the Sand Festival Animates Praia da Tocha Beach

The Grilled Sardine on the Tile and Grilled Potato in the Sand Festival takes place from Friday to Sunday in the gardens of the Residents' Association of Praia da Tocha, promoting the gastronomic potential of the Gândara region. The program includes musical entertainment with Ritmo Popular and Bruno Pato. These delicacies, inherited from times when fishermen and peasants took advantage of available resources, result from deeply rooted traditions: sardine was grilled on clay roof tiles in wood-fired ovens and potatoes were buried in sand pits heated by bonfires. Associated with xávega fishing operations and popular festivals, these practices have become identity symbols of the region, and the festival seeks to recover and celebrate this gastronomic and cultural heritage.
