The Short/age – Shortfilms for a New Age festival takes place in Viseu on August 28, at 9:30 PM, at the Cultural Center on Rua Direita, the city's new cultural venue. This is the festival's 75th session, which this year brings together two Portuguese directorial premieres.
The evening presents three comedies, with the presence of two of the directors. The program opens with First Date, the directorial debut of Luís Filipe Borges, who is a producer, comedian, screenwriter, and presenter. This is followed by Aquele Abraço, by Michael Joaquim Matias, a journalist by training and a documentary filmmaker by career, who makes his fiction debut with a story that spent years in a drawer.
To close the evening, the festival travels to Turkey with Happy Feet, by director Sevgi Esman. The project is funded by Viseu City Council's Eixo Cultura program and has free admission, with seat reservations available on the website shortage.pt/sessao75.
O festival ‘Short/age – Shortfilms for a New Age’ decorre em Viseu, esta sexta-feira, 28 de agosto, às 21h30. Aquela que é já a 75.ª sessão, vai estar-se no Ponto Cultural da Rua Direita, a nova sala cultural da cidade. O programa junta duas estreias portuguesas na realização, ambas com a presença dos realizadores, e uma curta-metragem turca.
“Três comédias, dois realizadores na sala e uma conversa para esticar a noite”, anunciaram os promotores.
A noite abre com ‘First Date’, a estreia na realização de Luís Filipe Borges, produtor, humorista, argumentista e apresentador. Segue-se ‘Aquele Abraço’, de Michael Joaquim Matias, jornalista de formação e documentarista de carreira, que se estreia na ficção com uma história que passou anos na gaveta. A fechar, o festival viaja até à Turquia com ‘Happy Feet’, da realizadora Sevgi Esman.
