Europe presents itself as a global leader in the green transition and circular economy, promoting an image of environmental responsibility and exemplary regulation. This position is frequently used as an international reference for climate and sustainability policies.

However, the article draws attention to a deep inconsistency between this ambition and reality. The concrete example used is that of electronic waste, where Europe reveals significant contradictions in the application of its own circular economy principles.

As a champion of sustainability, Europe sets ambitious targets and regulations, but faces difficulties in implementing them, especially regarding the management of electronic waste. This discrepancy between discourse and practice raises questions about the credibility of European environmental policies.

There goes the pilgrimage of São João d'Arga

Another edition of the traditional pilgrimage of São João d'Arga took place in the Serra d'Arga, in Caminha. Pilgrims and visitors fulfilled the centuries-old tradition of climbing to the sanctuary and walking three times around the chapel, followed by the offering of two alms: one to the saint and one to the devil. The night of June 28 to 29 once again attracted thousands of people, who gathered to the sound of concertina, challenge singing, chiripiti and green wine, in what is considered one of the most traditional and authentic pilgrimages in Minho.
