Protests in Bolivia: police and farmers clash again after two months

Farmers clashed again with police in Bolivia, two months after the last episodes of violence in the country. The protests intensified when farmers began blocking a bridge in the Beni region, in the municipality of Marbán.

Farmers are protesting against a government decree that doubled the price of diesel. The fuel now costs about 1.50 dollars per liter, which corresponds to approximately 1.29 euros.

This is not the first time the Bolivian government has faced opposition from farmers regarding fuel policy. The blockades and clashes with security forces reflect the worsening of social tensions in the country.
