Mainland Portugal was affected by a mass of maritime polar air that caused a sharp drop in temperatures across the entire territory. This air mass is now losing influence over the country and should leave Portugal in the coming hours. As a result of the change in air mass, temperatures will rise significantly over the coming days. According to weather forecasts, temperatures should reach 34 degrees Celsius over the weekend. This change marks the end of the period of intense cold that was felt in mainland Portugal.
