The City Hall of Rio de Janeiro published decrees that change the names of streets, avenues, squares and other public spaces in various neighborhoods of the city, such as Bento Ribeiro, Realengo, Ricardo de Albuquerque, Jacarepaguá, Recreio dos Bandeirantes, Joá and Laranjeiras. The changes pay tribute to artists, architects, jurists, engineers, theater directors, community leaders and residents who contributed to the formation of the neighborhoods. Among the choices, the Aldemir Martins Avenue in Recreio dos Bandeirantes stands out, in honor of the artist from Ceará known for his work inspired by nature and the man from the Northeast, in addition to references to municipalities, Brazilian states and a European country.
