The court in Vila Real began trying a 45-year-old father and his 22-year-old son for attempted homicide. The father is accused by the Public Prosecutor's Office of three crimes of attempted qualified homicide, while the son is charged with one crime of attempted qualified homicide. The facts date back to September 12, 2025, and occurred in the Alagoas neighborhood, in the city of Peso da Régua, district of Vila Real.
The defendants are suspected of having fired several shots at four men, three of whom were admitted to the emergency department of the Local Health Unit of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro late that afternoon. Military personnel from the GNR and agents from the Judicial Police of Vila Real were mobilized to the scene, who seized firearms and ammunition from the defendants.
