Argentina announced on Tuesday its first matches in this new post-World Cup cycle. Coach Lionel Scaloni's team will face three opponents in friendly matches during the next FIFA window: Bolivia, Burkina Faso and Benin. All the matches will be held in Argentina.
The first match will be on the 30th of this month, against Bolivia, at the Mario Alberto Kempes stadium in Córdoba. The other two games will be at the Monumental de Núñez, home of River Plate: Burkina Faso on October 3rd and Benin on the 6th.
These friendly matches mark the beginning of a new era for the Argentine national team, which seeks to rebuild after Lionel Messi's retirement from the team. The last time Argentina took the field was in the World Cup final, on July 19th, when they lost 1-0 to Spain.
The chosen opponents should not present great difficulty for the Argentine team. In the FIFA ranking, Bolivia occupies 77th place, Burkina Faso is 62nd and Benin is in 93rd position.
