Carminha and Nina are back: check out the confirmed actors for 'Avenida Brasil 2'

oglobo15 September 2026 at 18:06

TV Globo announced on social media this Tuesday the list of confirmed actors for "Avenida Brasil 2", scheduled to premiere in January 2017, taking over from the soap opera "Quem ama cuida". The information was received with enthusiasm by fans of the original storyline.

Among those confirmed are the protagonists of the 2012 soap opera, written by João Emanuel Carneiro. Adriana Esteves returns to the role of Carminha, the great villain of the story, and Débora Falabella is back as Nina, the protagonist who rivals her former stepmother trying to avenge her father's death.

The cast also features other familiar names from the first phase. Murilo Benício plays Tufão, Carminha's husband and retired soccer player. Cauã Reymond reprised his role as Jorginho, Tufão's son and Nina's love interest. Completing the returning group are Eliane Giardini (Murici, Carminha's mother-in-law), Juliana Cazarré (Adauto, Murici's boyfriend), Leticia Isnard (Ivana, Tufão's sister) and Marcos Caruso (Leleco, Tufão's father and Carminha's father-in-law).

The sequel also gains new actors who will take on unprecedented roles in the storyline. Among the names joining the soap opera are Cris Vianna, Drico Alves, Ernani Moraes and Jéssica Ellen, among others that will still be announced.

Why this matters

Fans of the original soap opera "Avenida Brasil" (2012), one of the most watched in Brazilian TV history, will have the opportunity to see their favorite characters again. The confirmation of the cast sparks expectations about the continuation's plot and directly impacts viewers who follow Globo's programming, especially those who tune in to the 9pm timeslot.
