Ruy de Carvalho, at 99 years of age, received the Medal of Honour of the City of Lisbon. This distinction is one of the highest honours granted by the Lisbon City Council to citizens who have distinguished themselves through their contribution to the city.
The ceremony recognised Ruy de Carvalho's legacy as a prominent figure in the arts and in medicine. Throughout nearly a century of life, the artist built a distinguished career in both theatre and Portuguese cinema.
