A 70-year-old man was found alive after spending eleven days lost on a remote island in Lake Superior, on the border between the United States and Canada. Craig Berg, a grandfather and retired engineer, was rescued in Isle Royale National Park, in Michigan, United States, on Saturday, the 12th.
The rescue was carried out by the US Coast Guard, who found Craig "injured and hypothermic". He had gone missing during a solo hiking trip that began on August 27th. His last contact with family had been on September 2nd, since he lost his phone and wallet during the time he was lost.
