Among the main proposed measures is the creation of a European Center for Democratic Resilience, which will function as a coordination and response structure to threats to democracy. This center will have the mission to monitor and combat foreign disinformation and interference campaigns.
The report also advocates for strengthening the protection of European elections and media, considering them priority targets of manipulation attempts by external actors. The MEPs emphasize the need to strengthen the resilience of democratic institutions.
The report identifies Russia as the main threat to Europe's democratic integrity, pointing to the country as responsible for systematic disinformation campaigns and interference in European democratic processes.
