The school year started on Monday in Tomar with more than 300 students in temporary facilities, due to ongoing works in the city. The councilor for Education at Tomar City Hall, Célia Bonet, from the PSD, guaranteed to the news agency that the necessary conditions have been created for the start of the school year.
Of this group of affected students, 280 attend Escola Básica Gualdim Pais, which is undergoing a requalification process. The work at that school has a cost of approximately six million euros and shows a degree of execution of 45%.
