Silas Andersen, a midfielder for Sporting, has been called up for Denmark's under-21 national team. The call-up was made by head coach Lars Knudsen to join the national team.
Denmark's under-21 team has already secured a spot in the European Championship for the category, thus guaranteeing qualification for the European competition through the team's performance throughout the qualifiers.
Andersen, who plays for Sporting, will now join his national team teammates for the international commitments of the Danish under-21 team. The call-up represents recognition of the player's work while at the Portuguese club.
