The Municipal Council of Vila Nova da Barquinha is proceeding with the revision of the municipality's school network in light of increased demand. The school year began with a total of 1,270 students, representing 40 more students compared to the previous period.
Among the measures implemented, the creation of a new class at Escola de Praia do Ribatejo stands out, a direct response to the growth of the school population in the municipality.
The Councilor for Education, Marina Honório, told the Lus news agency that the evolution of the resident population and the increase in demand at schools justify careful planning of the school network for the coming years, in order to ensure adequate responses to the community's needs.
